Guest Speakers at Cabrillo High School Aquarium

     Shaun Crouse, the awesome SCUBA Instructor and new management of Ocean Sports Dive Shop and I, Kimberly of KCPhotography, Pro-Photographer above and underwater, were guest speakers at Cabrillo High School of the Lompoc School District last Wednesday, November 3rd 2010. We had an amazing time sharing our SCUBA knowledge, stories, experiences, and career paths with four great classes of the Cabrillo Aquarium/Travel program.

     Now I'm not saying that it was an easy task by any measure, you try keeping 40 students (4 different classes) entertained for 47 min!! But I think between the two of us, our PADI SCUBA Dive Video, our most exciting experiences, new and old SCUBA equipment, and a live demonstration of how all the gear works and fits on students from each class kept most kids entertained, interested and educated on all things SCUBA. It was a lot of work but also a lot of fun to share all that with those students! =)  Thanks again to the teachers of Cabrillo who invited us to come and guest speak in their classes!

     And let me tell you, we got our very own private tour of the Cabrillo High School Aquarium after our classes were over and those kids really know what they are doing! They have amazing exhibits, touch tanks, and spectacular aquariums of all the local Channel Islands marine life!! It was wonderful to see all that right here in our little town of Lompoc, CA! Each of those students working in the Aquarium are so knowledgeable of all the marine life and some have their own special projects including a Jelly Fish exhibit and Sea Horse exhibit! These high school students are awesome and obviously love what they are doing, it really shows!
