2013 Lobster Season Opener starts tonight, Sat. SEP 28th @12:01AM
Grab a dive buddy and get on out there tonight for the Opener! You don't have to SCUBA Dive if you don't want to, a lot of freedivers do great work finding Spiny Lobster right along the coast. Don't forget to have your current Fishing Licesnse, a Lobster report card & correct measuring gauge with you and all the proper diving and safety equipment. Always double check your gear, especially if it's been in the garage since last season opener! Have Fun, be Safe and don't miss out on our specials at Ocean Sports. This is a once in a lifetime experience to learn Freediving techniques from one of the best Spearfishermen/Freedivers in the country!! We would like to welcome all of our newest scuba certs of 2013 into the largest, World Wide Tribe of divers! And yes it does include our Ocean Sports Dive Family which is growing larger each month and we're so excited for all of our divers getting ready for their school projects, tropical dive travel, and the awesome local diving and spearfishing right here at the Channel Islands!
Speaking of spearfishing, here is one of our awesome dedicated divers who just caught himself an excellent prize dinner fish, the Halibut, this last weekend! Congrats on a great dinner for the family and having the freshest, most responsible Catch of the Day!! (oh and if you like his OMER 3D Camo wetsuit just come talk to us at Ocean Sports for a great deal).
Our Dive Classes are filling up very quickly so if you'd like the chance to be in one of our next ones stop by the shop or call to reserve your spot and to get your very own Open Water Crew Pack! Come check out the Cabrillo High School Aquarium Open Houses each month like the one we'll be at tonight (Wednesday, Feb 20th). It goes from 6:30-8:30pm at the High School, it's free, the aquariums are amazing, the students who run it are great and there are special guests featuring Surf Board History and Photography.
